# Help Guide (English)

# Save Match Data to My Strava Account [iPhone, Pro]

To upload match data to Strava, the Pro version must be unlocked and at least Fitness Tracking must be enabled. To include route data in Strava as well, Location Tracking must also be turned on.

In the [sf:gear] settings, the Strava upload can be activated with the toggle switch once “Fitness Data” is enabled. When activated for the first time, a window opens prompting you to authorize your Strava account for uploads. Once authorization is complete, the window closes and a message appears confirming that the service is connected.

When you complete your next match with fitness and movement data, it will usually be uploaded to Strava automatically, and you’ll receive a notification once the upload is finished. If this doesn’t happen, you can also trigger the upload manually. To do so, open the [sf:sportscourt] match overview and swipe the match you want to upload to the right. Then tap the [sf:network] “Strava” button that appears once. The upload will start.

You can revoke the Strava connection at any time in your Strava account settings.

# Can match events be edited after the match has ended? [Watch, iPhone]
No, this is not yet possible in the current version. Match events can only be changed during an active match on the Apple Watch – see the relevant section below in the manual.

In the future, it will be possible to make changes after the match has ended on the iPhone.

# How does the app stay in the foreground on Apple Watch? [Watch]
To keep the app open in the foreground, you can set your Apple Watch so that the app remains active for up to one hour before returning to the watch face.

On your Apple Watch, open Settings > General > Return to Clock. There you can select "After 1 Hour" for all apps.
Alternatively, set it only for this app: Return to Clock > "What’s the Score, Bro?“ > Custom > "After 1 Hour".

If Fitness Tracking is enabled, the app automatically stays in the foreground.

# Edit titles of saved matches [iPhone]
On your iPhone, you can change the titles of saved matches. In [sf:sportscourt] Matches, swipe right on a match and tap [sf:pencil] "Edit".

You can also change the title directly in the match report. Just tap the [sf:square.and.pencil] button next to the title.

# Can the app be used on Apple Watch without a direct connection to the iPhone? [Watch, iPhone]
Yes, that’s possible. The app can be used on the Apple Watch even without a direct connection to the iPhone.

# Set the kicking-off team [Watch]
Before the match begins, you can set which team will kick off. To do this, double‑tap quickly on the score display of the respective team (the large colorful circle with the “0” on it). The display is now marked with a green border. You can change the marking as you wish before kick‑off.

During one or more (half‑time) breaks, the green border appears on the score display of the other team. This way, you always know which team will kick off.

For extra time or a penalty shoot‑out, you can again mark the kicking‑off team or the team with the first penalty taker before it starts.

# How the timers work [Watch]
The app measures time for a variety of parameters. As a rule, a countdown timer is used to show the remaining playing time down to the second.

An exception is “Open game without time limit,” which can be activated in the settings. There, the playing time is shown continuously. This mode is particularly suitable for training games, but also other sports such as roundnet or table football/foosball.

When a countdown timer reaches a remaining time of 0:00 seconds and the end of the official playing time, your Watch vibrates and the timer automatically switches to a continuous timer, which now shows the elapsed stoppage time. In addition, the display turns red.

The current minute of play is always displayed at the bottom of the screen to the right of the [sf:clock] symbol. Next to it, the time accumulated due to interruptions from goal celebrations or injury breaks is shown in minutes. It serves as a recommendation for stoppage time. If the display is red, the recommended stoppage time has not yet been reached; if it is green, it has been reached and your Watch vibrates again.

If the timer is tapped once during the match, the recording of an interruption begins. The display blinks and the word “BREAK” appears in red above the timer. The Apple Watch vibrates continuously at 5‑second intervals to remind you that pause mode is active. When play resumes, tap the timer again. The elapsed time during the interruption is automatically added to the recommended stoppage time.

If there is a longer suspension that was started via a [sf:hand.raised] action menu, the timer is paused. “SUSPENDED” then appears in red above the timer, and an additional continuously running timer shows in yellow the elapsed time due to the suspension. If the timer is tapped in this mode, you land on the suspension screen, where you can resume the match. Immediately afterwards, the regular timer runs again.

If you have activated temporary dismissals, each player with a time penalty also receives a to‑the‑second timer. On the main screen, an active time penalty is represented by a circular timer that appears in place of the [sf:magazine] symbol. If multiple time penalties are active at the same time, the time penalty with the least remaining time is always shown. If you tap this timer, you go directly to the detailed, to‑the‑second overview of all temporary dismissals.

When a time penalty expires, the display turns green and your Watch vibrates. You can then use the sin-bin overview to bring the player back onto the field.

# Running a Match: Kick-off, Halftime, and Full Time

To start a match, tap “KICK-OFF” once. The timer will begin to run.

You can end a half or the entire match when the set match time has expired and stoppage time has begun. To do so, press and hold the timer for about 3 seconds. A vibration confirms that the match has been ended.

# Markers around the score display [Watch, Pro]
If, after kick‑off, there is a caution or a send‑off, an indicator appears at the lower outer edge of the score display of the respective team. A yellow card is shown as a yellow dot. Yellow‑red and red are shown as a red dot accordingly.

When a substitution occurs, the total number of newly substituted‑on players is shown at the upper outer edge of the respective score display. This way you always know whether a team has already used up its quota. If you play with return substitutions, these are not counted toward the total number of substitutions.

# The buttons on the main screen [Watch]

## Top right
At the top right of the main screen you’ll find the [sf:tray.full.fill] menu. There you can manage your subscription and view match reports from past matches, or delete them or transfer them to the iPhone.

As soon as a match begins, the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] symbol for the match report appears in this position. All events are recorded automatically and continuously in the match report. Here—if you are playing with fixed teams—you can correct or delete individual player events such as goals, substitutions, cards, or time penalties. You can also reset a timer started by mistake or cancel the entire match recording.

If a penalty shoot‑out occurs, once it begins the [sf:xmark.shield] symbol is displayed here. You can use it to record missed penalties.

## Top left
Before the match begins, you’ll find the [sf:gearshape] settings here.

After the match has started, the display switches to the [sf:magazine] notebook, where you can navigate horizontally with swipe gestures through the health data, the match notes, and the overview of active time penalties. In the match notes, both cards and time penalties as well as substitutions for all players are recorded. This way, you always keep an overview.

When a temporary dismissal is active, the view switches to a circular timer that shows the remaining penalty time. If you tap this, you go directly to the overview of all time penalties, but you can still navigate horizontally to the match notes and health data with swipe gestures.

If a penalty shoot‑out occurs, once it begins the [sf:xmark.shield] symbol is displayed here. You can use it to record missed penalties.

## Bottom left and bottom right
If you use only the free version of the app, the bottom buttons show a [sf:lock] and have no function.

If you have merely deactivated Pro mode, this is shown with [sf:hand.raised.slash]. The buttons are then also inactive.

If Pro mode is activated and you are playing without fixed line‑ups, a [sf:lock.badge.clock] symbol without function is shown before the match begins. After the match starts, you see the [sf:hand.raised] symbol, which opens the action menu for the respective team. There you can make substitutions, issue cards and time penalties, as well as interrupt the match or officially abandon it.

If Pro mode is activated and you are playing with a fixed line‑up, the [sf:person.crop.rectangle.stack] symbol is shown before the match begins. This opens the line‑up menu where you can add players. After the match starts, you see the [sf:hand.raised] symbol, which opens the action menu for the respective team. There you can make substitutions, issue cards and time penalties, as well as interrupt the match or officially abandon it.

# The views in Notes [Watch, Pro]
After the match starts, the display switches at the top left to the [sf:magazine] notebook, where you can navigate horizontally with swipe gestures through the health data, the match notes, and the overview of active time penalties.

The health data are updated every 30 seconds and provide information about average values and peak values.

In the match notes, both cards and time penalties as well as substitutions for all players are recorded. This way you always keep an overview.

When a temporary dismissal is active, the view switches to a circular timer that shows the remaining penalty time. If you tap this, you go directly to the overview of all time penalties, but you can still navigate horizontally to the match notes and the health data with swipe gestures.

# The match report [Watch, iPhone]
As soon as a match begins, the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] symbol for the match report appears at the top right of the main screen. The match report automatically records all events continuously: goals, substitutions, cards, temporary dismissals, halves, and interruptions.

Here—if you are playing with fixed line‑ups—you can correct or delete individual match events such as goals, substitutions, cards, or temporary dismissals. To delete an event, swipe left until the [sf:trash] button appears. Tap it and the event is deleted immediately. If you swipe right, the [sf:pencil] button appears. When you tap it, the edit view opens, where you can change the player or multiple players (in a multi‑substitution). Once you confirm the change, both the match report and the match notes are updated.

In the match report, you can also reset a timer started by mistake or cancel the entire match recording. To do this, tap the [sf:clock.badge.xmark] at the bottom right of the match report. This opens the choice of whether you only want to reset the timer to the last pause or cancel the entire match recording. The choice requires confirmation for safety.

# The menu: subscription management and saved matches [Watch]
Before the match begins, the [sf:tray.full.fill] menu is located at the top right of the main screen. There you can manage your subscription and view match reports from past matches, or delete them or transfer them to the iPhone.

If you already use the Pro version, you can check the status of your subscription via the Pro button. If you don’t use Pro yet, you can take out a subscription with a four‑week free trial directly. Cancellation is possible at any time during this period and does not incur any costs.

The “Saved Games” button takes you to the overview of saved match reports. These can be opened and viewed individually on the Watch. With a swipe gesture to the right you can delete individual match reports. If there is at least one match report in the overview, there is also a “Send to iPhone” button at the end of the list, which immediately transfers all saved match reports to the paired iPhone.

You will also find the version number of the installed app in the menu. If you are unsure whether you have the latest version, you can check here.

# Subscription and free trial [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
On the Apple Watch you can access the status view of your subscription via [sf:tray.full.fill] > Pro. If you are not yet using the Pro version, you can take out a subscription with a four‑week free trial directly. Cancellation is possible at any time during this period and does not incur any costs.

On the iPhone you can reach the view via Dashboard > “Subscription” tile or in Settings via the [sf:cart.fill] icon in the top navigation.

The Pro version gives you access to numerous functions and features that will sustainably change the way you referee. Record all match events in seconds, correct mis‑attributed players when needed, keep an eye on the match time, required stoppage time, and any number of time penalties, and after the final whistle analyze your positioning and extensive performance metrics with AI support.

# The symbols in the timer button [Watch]
Various symbols in the timer button help you keep an eye on what’s happening on the pitch at all times:

- [sf:play.circle] indicates that a match has not yet started, is in half‑time, or has been interrupted.
- [sf:pause.circle] indicates that the match is currently running.
- [sf:1.circle], [sf:2.circle], [sf:3.circle], and [sf:4.circle] indicate the respective period (half).
- A [sf:plus.circle] on the half indicator shows that stoppage time has begun.
- The [sf:stopwatch] symbol indicates that an open match without fixed halves has been set.
- The [sf:timer] symbol indicates that a match with fixed halves has been set.
- [sf:zzz] marks a (half‑time) break.

# Display of minute of play and recommended stoppage time [Watch]
The current minute of play is always displayed at the bottom of the screen to the right of the [sf:clock] symbol. Next to it, the time accumulated due to interruptions from goal celebrations or injury breaks is displayed in minutes. It serves as a recommendation for stoppage time. If the display is red, the recommended stoppage time has not yet been reached; if it is green, it has been reached and your Watch vibrates again.

If you tap the timer on the main screen, you activate pause mode, for example during goal celebrations or injury breaks. The timer blinks and the word “BREAK” appears in red above it. Your Apple Watch reminds you every 5 seconds with a vibration that the app is in this mode. If you tap the timer again, pause mode ends. The duration of the pause is added to the recommended stoppage time. The accumulated time is rounded up and displayed in minutes as the recommended stoppage time.

# Break‑time timer and half‑time alarm [Watch]
If you end a half and the match is not over, a yellow continuously running break‑time timer is displayed in place of the minute of play and the recommended stoppage time. This way you always know how long it has been since the whistle and can bring the players back onto the field on time.

You can also activate a half‑time alarm in the [sf:gearshape] settings. You can set any time between 1 and 15 minutes for this. When the break‑time timer reaches the set time, a vibration alarm is triggered and you know it’s time to continue.

# Set yellow and red cards [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
In the [sf:gearshape] settings you can set which cards you want to use in a match. The default is the 13 official cards named by IFAB in the [Laws Of The Game](https://www.theifab.com/de/).

Many football associations handle the use of cards differently. If you want to referee with fewer than 13 cards, on the iPhone go to Settings > Pro Features > Card selection > Go to selection.

On the Apple Watch: Settings > Pro mode > Card selection.

In the selection menu you can enable or disable each card with the slider. Only enabled cards are shown to you in the match as options in the [sf:hand.raised] action menu.

# View of yellow and red cards in the action menu [Watch, Pro]
Open the [sf:hand.raised] action menu in a running match with Pro mode and fixed halves. The cards are displayed below the “Substitution” button. If you have 5 or fewer cards enabled, all cards are listed individually and you can scroll to the correct card. If you have more than 5 cards enabled, they are grouped into “Yellow cards” and “Red cards” to give you a better overview.

# Deleting incorrect entries: goals, substitutions, cards, and time penalties [Watch, Pro]
If you accidentally recorded one goal too many in the free basic version, you can undo it with a long press on the respective score display. Haptic feedback tells you when the deletion has been executed.

In the Pro version, you can delete match events if you are playing with fixed line‑ups. To do this, open the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] match report on the main screen. Scroll to the match event—goal, substitution, card, or time penalty—that you want to delete. Swipe left once until you see the [sf:trash] button. If you tap it, the event is deleted immediately without further confirmation.

# Correcting incorrect entries: goals, substitutions, cards, and time penalties [Watch, Pro]
In the Pro version, you can correct match events if you are playing with fixed line‑ups. To do this, open the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] match report on the main screen. Scroll to the match event—goal, substitution, card, or time penalty—that you want to correct. Swipe right once until you see the [sf:pencil] button. If you tap it, the edit view for match events opens.

For goals, cards, and time penalties, the currently selected player is marked with a red [sf:x.circle]. That player cannot be selected again. For goals and time penalties, only players currently on the field are shown. For cards, you can also select players on the bench, as well as the coach and assistants. Tap a player and you will be asked whether this player should be selected for the goal or the disciplinary measure. If you confirm, both the match report and the match notes are corrected in the background and the display returns directly to the main screen.

For substitutions, the same view opens after tapping the [sf:pencil] button. However, the players currently assigned to the match event who were subbed on and off are marked. To deselect a player from the selection, press on their jersey for 2 seconds until you get haptic feedback. To add more players, tap them. In order for the “Confirm” button to appear, the number of players subbed off and on must be identical. If you confirm, both the match report and the match notes are corrected in the background and the display returns directly to the main screen.

# Interrupting or abandoning a match [Watch, Pro]
To interrupt or abandon a match, go to “Suspend or abandon match” at the end of the list in the [sf:hand.raised] action menu. You arrive at the “Suspend match” view. To reach “Abandon match,” you must scroll down once with the crown or your finger. I set it up this way so you don’t accidentally abandon the match in a heated situation.

If you tap “Suspend match,” a continuously running timer shows how long the match has already been interrupted. With the “End suspension” button below, you can resume the match. Each suspension is recorded separately in the match report with a timestamp and duration. When you suspend a match, the match timer on the main screen is paused. “SUSPENDED” then appears in red above the timer, and an additional continuously running timer shows in yellow the elapsed time due to the interruption. If the timer is tapped in this mode, you land on the interruption screen, where you can resume the match. Immediately afterwards, the regular match timer runs again.

If you tap “Abandon match,” you immediately receive the message: “Match abandoned, match report created.” The match is ended and saved immediately; the rating is automatically “poor” (abandoned matches are never fun). You can then open the match report via the [sf:tray.full.fill] menu.

# Making substitutions [Watch, Pro]
To record a substitution, tap the first button “Substitution” in the [sf:hand.raised] action menu.

## Without fixed teams
If you are playing without a fixed line‑up, a number pad opens on which you first enter, comma‑separated, the numbers of all players leaving the field. When you confirm the selection with the colored button at the bottom right, a further number pad opens on which you enter, comma‑separated, the shirt numbers of the players who are coming on. When you confirm your entry, the app checks whether the number of players subbed on and off matches. If it matches, the substitution is entered in the match report and the match notes. If the number does not match, an error message appears and you must change your selection. In general, the use of fixed teams is recommended.

## With fixed teams
If you are playing with fixed teams, a selection view of all outfield players and substitutes opens. Outfield players are marked with a colored [sf:tshirt.fill], substitutes with a colored outlined [sf:tshirt]. Players who have been sent off are not shown. Players with an active time penalty are shown but cannot be selected to be subbed on.

If you play without return substitutions, players who have already been subbed off are marked with a [sf:lock.circle] symbol and can no longer be selected to be subbed on.

Multiple substitutions are possible. Tap as many players as you want to sub on and off. If you tap the wrong player, you can deselect them by pressing their jersey for 2 seconds.

When the number of players being subbed on equals the number being subbed off, the “Confirm” button appears and you can carry out the substitution. In practice, multiple substitutions take no more than a few seconds this way.

# Issuing a card [Watch, Pro]
To issue a card, tap the respective card in the [sf:hand.raised] action menu.

If you are playing without a fixed line‑up, a number pad opens on which you enter the player’s number. Confirm with the colored button at the bottom right.

If you are playing with a fixed line‑up, a selection view of all outfield players, substitutes, and team officials (C, A1, A2, A3) opens. Players who have already received a card or a time penalty are marked accordingly. Tap the player to whom you are issuing a card. A confirmation dialog opens showing the selected player big. If you confirm the card, the match report and match notes are updated and the display returns directly to the main screen.

# Recording a goal [Watch]

## All modes: Free, without and with fixed team line‑ups
To record a goal, tap the score display of the respective team.

## Without a fixed team line‑up
If you are playing without a fixed team line‑up, a number pad opens on which you can enter the goal scorer’s shirt number. If it is an own goal or a penalty goal, you can press the [sf:quote.bubble] key on the number pad to go to the view with the selection option for own goal and penalty goal. You can only activate one of the two sliders at a time. If a selection is active, return to the number pad with the [sf:chevron.left] button. After submitting the shirt number, you see a confirmation view.

## With a fixed team line‑up
A selection view of all outfield players, substitutes, and team officials (C, A1, A2, A3) opens. Players who have already received a card or a time penalty are marked accordingly. Below the player view you can also specify via two buttons whether it is an own goal or a penalty goal. If the own‑goal button is activated, the view jumps to the other team.

Tap the goal scorer. A confirmation dialog opens showing the selected player big. If you confirm the scorer, the match report and match notes are updated and the display returns directly to the main screen.

# Issuing a time penalty [Watch, Pro]
Temporary dismissals can be enabled in the [sf:gearshape] settings when the Pro version is active. When the “Activate temporary dismissals” slider is switched on, a stepper appears below it to set the length of the time penalty between 1 and 10 minutes.

To issue a time penalty, tap “Temporary dismissal” in the [sf:hand.raised] action menu and select the appropriate reason:

## Without a fixed team line‑up
If you are playing without a fixed team line‑up, a number pad opens on which you can enter the player’s shirt number for the time penalty. After submitting the shirt number, a confirmation view appears.

Confirm your selection. The time penalty is now shown on the main screen with a timer in place of the notes. This way, you always have an eye on how long the time penalty will last. As soon as a time penalty has expired, the button turns green and the Apple Watch vibrates.

If you tap the timer button, the overview of all active time penalties opens with to‑the‑second timers. If a timer has expired and the player can return to the field, the “Return to match” button is shown next to their shirt number. Tap it and the player is again part of the active outfield players.

## With a fixed team line‑up
A selection view of all outfield players, substitutes, and team officials (C, A1, A2, A3) opens. Players who have already received a card or a time penalty are marked accordingly. Tap the player who should receive the time penalty. A confirmation dialog opens showing the selected player big. If you confirm the player, the match report and match notes are updated and the display returns directly to the main screen.

The time penalty is now shown on the main screen with a timer in place of the notes. This way, you always have an eye on how long the time penalty will last. If multiple time penalties are active, the total number of all active time penalties is also displayed. The timer always reflects the time penalty with the least remaining time.

As soon as a time penalty has expired, the button turns green and the Apple Watch vibrates.

If you tap the timer button, the overview of all active time penalties opens with to‑the‑second timers. If a timer has expired and the player can return to the field, the “Return Player” button is shown next to their shirt number. Tap it and the player is again part of the active outfield players.

If you are playing with a fixed line‑up, the official IFAB rules can be applied when a second time penalty is given: If a player receives a second time penalty, this is equivalent to a send‑off. After the end of the time penalty, however, a substitute may be brought on for the sent‑off player. Therefore, after a second time penalty has expired, two symbols are shown in the overview of time penalties:

- Press the red [sf:x.circle] symbol to end the time penalty without a substitution.
- Press the green [sf:arrow.up] symbol to bring on a substitute for the sent‑off player. The usual view for substitutions then opens. In addition to the replacement player, you can make further substitutions there. For the “Confirm” button to appear, the number of players coming on must be 1 higher than the number of players leaving the field.

# Energy consumption per match [Watch]
Measured values for battery consumption under real‑world conditions for a 90‑minute match with fitness and location tracking switched on:

- Apple Watch SE (1st gen): 40 percent battery.
- Apple Watch Ultra 2: 8 percent battery.

Factors such as ambient temperature, background refresh of other apps, or the use of cellular can additionally affect consumption.

# Reset an accidentally started timer [Watch]
In the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] match report you can also reset a timer started by mistake or cancel the entire match recording. To do this, tap the [sf:clock.badge.xmark] at the bottom right of the match report. This opens the choice of whether you want to reset the timer only to the last pause or cancel the entire match recording. The choice requires confirmation for safety.

# Reset a running match [Watch]
In the [sf:pencil.and.list.clipboard] match report you can also reset a timer started by mistake or cancel the entire match recording. To do this, tap the [sf:clock.badge.xmark] at the bottom right of the match report. This opens the choice of whether you want to reset the timer only to the last pause or cancel the entire match recording. The choice requires confirmation for safety.

# Match with return substitutions [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
If you are playing with a fixed line‑up, you can specify whether you allow return substitutions or not. In the [sf:gearshape] settings under “Professional mode” you can activate the slider for return substitutions.

Return substitutions are recorded like normal substitutions. However, they are not added to the total number of substitutions displayed on the main screen.

# Set line‑ups [Watch, iPhone, Pro]

## On the iPhone
If you have activated the Pro features, you can enable “Set teams” in the [sf:gear] settings. If the slider is switched on, two fields appear below in the respective team colors. Tap a field to go to the player selection view.

There you can tap shirt numbers to add them to the line‑up.

To remove players from the line‑up or select captain and goalkeeper, press and hold these for three seconds. A selection menu for these actions opens.

If a player is selected as captain, their jersey is complemented by an armband. A goalkeeper is indicated by a white goalkeeper glove. A player who is both captain and goalkeeper is indicated by a colorful glove with a “C” on it.

To add substitutes to the bench, switch to the “Substitutes” tab in the top navigation. There, too, you can add to the line‑up with taps and long presses.

The confirm button at the end of the page shows you how many players and substitutes you have selected. Press the button to return to the settings.

The “Reset” button deletes the entire selection and you can start over.

## On the Apple Watch
If you have activated the Pro features, you can enable “Set teams” in the [sf:gearshape] settings (recommended). If the slider is switched on, a button with the [sf:person.crop.rectangle.stack] symbol appears on the main screen for each team. This opens the selection screen for players and substitutes.

To add players, you can either use the number pad. There you can enter multiple players comma‑separated. Once you have entered all players, press the [sf:person.3] button. The players are now shown to you in the overview.

Or you scroll down. There you have the option to record the line‑up using speech recognition. Tap the gray button with the three symbols for this. In the view that opens, make sure that “Speech recording” is selected for input. You can recognize this by the symbol in the bottom right corner. If a [sf:microphone.badge.ellipsis] is not displayed there, tap the displayed symbol once and select the microphone. Each shirt number must be separated from the next number by a spoken “comma.” Once you have entered all players, press the [sf:person.3] button. The players are now shown to you in the overview.

In the overview you can tap a player to set them as captain and/or goalkeeper. If a player is selected as captain, their jersey is complemented by an armband. A goalkeeper is indicated by a white goalkeeper glove. A player who is both captain and goalkeeper is indicated by a colorful glove with a “C” on it.

To remove a player from the overview, long‑press their jersey.

To remove all players from a line‑up, scroll down in the overview and press the “Delete all” button.

## With the Lineup API
If your football association uses the Lineup API, you can transfer line‑ups and match parameters for each match to *Wie steht’s, Brudi?* on your iPhone with a single tap from any website or association app. This works in a fraction of a second. You can find more information here: [Lineup API](https://www.wiestehtsbrudi.de/lineup-api-fuer-dfbnet-und-verbandssoftware)

# How can I set a team’s captain and goalkeeper? [Watch, iPhone, Pro]

## On the iPhone
Pro features and “Set teams” must be activated.
To select a player as captain and goalkeeper, go in the [sf:gear] settings to the selection view of the respective team under “Set teams.” Press and hold the player for three seconds. A selection menu opens for selection as captain or goalkeeper.

## On the Apple Watch
Pro mode and “Set teams” must be activated.
On the main screen, press the [sf:person.crop.rectangle.stack] button of the respective team to go to the player overview.

In the player overview you can tap a player to set them as captain and/or goalkeeper.

If a player is selected as captain, their jersey is complemented by an armband. A goalkeeper is indicated by a white goalkeeper glove. A player who is both captain and goalkeeper is indicated by a colorful glove with a “C” on it.

# Why do jerseys with the labels C, A1, A2, and A3 also appear in the card selection screen? [Watch, Pro]
The labels C, A1, A2, and A3 stand for the coach and up to three other team officials for the respective team. These are automatically added to both teams when playing with fixed line‑ups.

# Delete line‑ups [Watch, iPhone, Pro]

## On the Watch
To remove a player from the [sf:person.crop.rectangle.stack] player overview, long‑press their jersey.

To remove all players from a line‑up, scroll down in the player overview and press the “Delete all” button.

## On the iPhone
Settings > Set teams > Player selection: To remove a player from the line‑up, press and hold them for three seconds. A selection menu opens. Press “Delete player.”

The “Reset” button deletes the entire selection and you can start over.

In the [sf:gearshape] settings you can reset all settings at once using the [sf:arrow.uturn.left.circle] button in the top page navigation. All line‑ups are deleted in the process.

# Lineup API: Import line‑ups from DFBnet or another platform [iPhone, Pro]
If your football association uses the Lineup API, you can transfer line‑ups and match parameters for each match to *Wie steht’s, Brudi?* on your iPhone with a single tap from any website or association app. This works in a fraction of a second. You can find more information here: [Lineup API](https://www.wiestehtsbrudi.de/lineup-api-fuer-dfbnet-und-verbandssoftware)

# Activate and configure time penalties [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
On the iPhone and the Apple Watch, you can activate time penalties in the settings when Pro features are switched on. As soon as you switch on the slider, you can set the length of the time penalty between 1 and 10 minutes with a control below. On the Apple Watch you can also operate the control with the crown.

# How can I see how long a time penalty still lasts? [Watch, Pro]
A time penalty is displayed on the main screen with a circular countdown timer in place of the notes. This way, you always have an eye on how long the time penalty will last. If multiple time penalties are active, the total number of all active time penalties is also shown. The timer always corresponds to the time penalty with the least remaining time.

As soon as a time penalty has expired, the button turns green and the Apple Watch vibrates.

If you tap the timer button, the overview of all active time penalties opens with to‑the‑second timers. If a timer has expired and the player can return to the field, the “Return Player” button is shown next to their shirt number.

# A player has completed their second time penalty. Depending on the rule set, they may be replaced by a substitute. [Watch, Pro]

# Can I view my fitness data during a match? [Watch, Pro]
During a running match, you can access the fitness overview via the [sf:magazine] notes or the time‑penalty timer at the same place. With horizontal swipe gestures you scroll through the views Fitness, Match notes, and Time penalties.

# Where can I see which players have already been cautioned or substituted? [Watch, Pro]
In the [sf:magazine] notes you can see which players have already been cautioned or substituted. Each player is marked with symbols for the respective sanction.

For time penalties, the red [sf:x.circle] means the time penalty is still active. The green [sf:x.circle] shows that the time penalty has already been served. If the [sf:clock] symbol is white, it is the first time penalty; if the [sf:clock] symbol is yellow, it is the second time penalty.

# Why can I only edit or delete match events such as goals, substitutions, cards, and time penalties when teams are fixed? [Watch, Pro]
Playing with fixed line‑ups uses a different data structure with a lot of metadata that traces the sequence of player‑related events. Only with that is the correction or deletion of match events possible.

# How is the recommended stoppage time calculated? [Watch]

# Can I time interruptions due to goal celebrations or injury breaks separately? [Watch]

# Do saved matches remain after deleting the app? [Watch, iPhone]
No. If you delete the app from a device, all associated data are deleted, including the saved matches. If you delete the app from the iPhone but have matches saved on the Apple Watch, you can transfer them again to the iPhone after reinstalling the app.

# My match configuration is not being sent from the iPhone to the Apple Watch [Watch, iPhone]
If a match configuration is not transferred from the iPhone to the Apple Watch, this is usually due to a system‑side communication issue: The connection is then no longer present because, for example, the app was opened on one device in the absence of the other device and a new connection was made whose key does not match the already existing connection of the other device. In such a case, you can fully close the app on both devices and open it again to establish the connection correctly.

# How can I cancel my subscription? [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
If you want to cancel your subscription, go on the iPhone to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions > *Wie steht’s, Brudi?* > Cancel subscription

# Why are weather, the venue address, or my movement analysis not displayed? [iPhone, Pro]
To ensure that weather data and movement data are recorded correctly, watchOS requires your explicit consent. This is only possible on the Apple Watch. When using the app for the first time, activate the “Location tracking” slider in the [sf:gearshape] settings.

If no permission has yet been set, a dialog opens with the request. Tap “While Using the App” there and confirm your selection. You can then also activate “Movement and Weather” on the iPhone.

If only the weather is not recorded, this may also be due to missing permission. On the iPhone, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Weather and set access to “Always.”

Sometimes the change of a permission is not set permanently. In that case, it can help to reset the corresponding settings completely: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Location & Privacy

# Why are my performance data incomplete or not displayed at all? [iPhone, Pro]
Fitness tracking must be activated via the Apple Watch before first use so that watchOS can request consent for access to the data. Activate the “Fitness tracking” slider in the [sf:gearshape] settings. The prompt then appears asking whether the Watch app may access Apple Health. In that prompt, give consent for all parameters, both for reading and writing. The consent is saved automatically and the slider in the iPhone app is unlocked. In future, you can also set the setting via the iPhone.

If only some data are transmitted, it may be that permission is missing for individual health values. Check the permissions in the Health app on your iPhone: Health > Sharing > Apps > *Wie steht’s, Brudi?*

# Why are the first rows of the squad in the selection view cut off? [iPhone, Pro]
If the first row is cut off in the team selection view on the iPhone, this is usually due to an especially large font size set in the settings. Check under Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text > Larger Dynamic Type

If this function is activated, or the slider for font size is far to the right, the first row of shirt numbers will be truncated.

# AI analysis: Why is the message “Not enough data for an analysis.” displayed? [iPhone, Pro]
For a meaningful AI analysis, fitness data recording must last at least 10 minutes.

# Which data does the AI analysis process? [iPhone, Pro]
The AI uses your entire performance data from a match for the analysis over the entire period: distance covered, speed, power, and heart rate. The data are weighted into the indicators activity, explosiveness, and fatigue, and condensed into a summary.

# Where can I view the fitness data for my match? [iPhone, Pro]
If fitness data were recorded for your match, you’ll see a line above the title with the distance covered, the average heart rate, and the calories burned. If you tap these, you go to the fitness view.

Alternatively, you can open the submenu via the [sf:ellipsis] symbol in the navigation and tap “Fitness.”

# Where can I view the movement analysis for my match? [iPhone, Pro]
If movement data were recorded for your match, you’ll see an address of the venue under the title. If you tap this, you go to the movement analysis.

Alternatively, you can open the submenu via the [sf:ellipsis] symbol in the navigation and tap “Movement analysis.”

# In the movement analysis, what does the yellow circle mean that appears when tapping the [sf:tshirt.fill] symbol of a goal scorer? [iPhone, Pro]
If you tap a goal scorer in the movement analysis, a yellow circle appears around their shirt number. This is a 20‑meter radius that scales appropriately when zooming in and out on the map. 20 meters should be the maximum distance from the action to have a good view. For goals, you can use this to check your positioning.

# Fitness: What do the green and red triangles with percentage values mean? [iPhone, Pro]
The green and red triangles with percentage values for all fitness parameters of a match show how the performance differs in percent from the average of the last 10 matches. Red triangles are shown for below‑average values, green triangles for above‑average values.

# Compressed view of match data for transfer to association software [iPhone, Pro]
To transfer all relevant match data quickly into the association software, you can use a compressed view. To do this, tap the [sf:eye] symbol in the top navigation of the match view. The compressed view opens, in which the general data on the match as well as goals, substitutions, and disciplinary measures are listed compactly in their own overviews.

# Can I share match results with others? [iPhone]
You can share or send match results. In the [sf:sportscourt] overview of all matches on the iPhone, you can reveal the [sf:square.and.arrow.up] “Share” button for a match with a swipe gesture to the right. Tap it once to share the match view with others.

# Editing match titles [iPhone]
In the [sf:sportscourt] overview of all matches on the iPhone, you can reveal the [sf:pencil] “Edit” button for a match with a swipe gesture to the right. Tap it once to change the title of the match.

Alternatively, in the match view you can tap [sf:ellipsis] menu > [sf:trash] “Delete match” to delete the match.

# Which match formats can be set? [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
- Free match without fixed time and without half‑time break
- Match with up to four periods
- Knockout match with up to four periods and penalty shoot‑out
- Knockout match with up to four periods, two extra‑time periods, and penalty shoot‑out

# How can I conduct decider matches? [Watch, iPhone, Pro]
If you activate the KO mode slider in Settings > Match preparation > KO match, you can then decide whether, in the event of a draw after regular playing time, you only want to carry out a penalty shoot‑out or how long the two extra‑time periods should last.

# What is the half‑time alarm? [Watch, iPhone]
The half‑time alarm activates a vibration in each half‑time break that informs you when the preset time has been reached. This way you always know when to continue without having to look at the watch.

# Tracking settings: Location services, weather, and fitness (Apple Health) [Watch, iPhone, Pro]

## Fitness
Fitness tracking must be activated via the Apple Watch before first use so that watchOS can request consent for access to the data. Activate the “Fitness tracking” slider in the [sf:gearshape] settings. The prompt then appears asking whether the Watch app may access Apple Health. In that prompt, give consent for all parameters, both for reading and writing. The consent is saved automatically and the slider in the iPhone app is unlocked. In future, you can also set the setting via the iPhone.

## Weather and location services

- After five rounds with a different outcome.
- From round 5 onward, after the first round with a different outcome.
